Hiking

One thing that I miss from living in the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley is the hiking. The area has some of the best year-round hiking in the United States.

Just a short drive from the major metropolitan areas of San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland you can hike on beaches, mountains or valleys. You can walk among redwood trees and view waterfalls or look out over miles of wildflowers.

Florida isn't really known for it's hiking. I have done a little running since I got back and participate in the 5k Race For a Cure in downtown Miami in October. I completed the race in 38 minutes. This is not going to win me any prizes but I finished it and for a first attempt it wasn't bad.
